Hsing-I: Chinese Mind-Body Boxing, by Robert W. Smith (Paperback, 112 pp.)
This timeless work was initially published in 1974, and was one of the earliest works on Hsing-I (Xingyi) in English. Smith presents excellent information on the fundamental porture requirements, instruction on the Five Fists, and Fighting Functions of the Five Forms both in respect to the Five Elemental Phases and Self Defense concepts. While information on the 12 Animals is sparse, the section entitled, "Advice from the Masters" is insightful.
